Procurement with WA Australian Disability Enterprises

Guidance
Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) provide employment, and employment support, for people with disability.
Last updated:

Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) offer people with disability opportunities to engage in a wide variety of work and offer similar working conditions to other employers. ADE employees gain training and experience to step into open employment or to continue in supported employment.

Buying from an ADE can provide positive commercial and social outcomes and meets the Western Australia Social Procurement Framework community outcomes of:

  • Increased purchasing from Western Australian Disability Enterprises.
  • Increased employment of Western Australians with a disability.

State agencies are encouraged to directly engage ADEs that are registered on buyability.org.au under rule C4.2 Exceptions to Procurement Methods in the WA Procurement Rules.

There are a total of eight Western Australia (WA) Australian Disability Enterprises registered on buyability.org.au:

  1. Ability WA (including subsidiary Goodwill Engineering)
  2. Activ
  3. Alinea/ParaQuad Industries
  4. Good Sammy
  5. Intelife
  6. Shire of Manjimup
  7. Westcare Incorporated
  8. Workpower
