Key stakeholders were invited to provide comment on the discussion paper, to help inform the development of a clear policy position.

After consideration of stakeholder feedback, the WAPC announced its preferred approach in November 2014.

It will initially focus on developing changes that enable local governments to introduce voluntary incentives into their planning schemes to encourage affordable housing in new developments.
