In the summers of 2016–17 and 2017–18, the department trialled a new phosphorus-binding clay product in the Lower Vasse River to explore new management options for controlling algal blooms.

The project was part of the Revitalising Geographe Waterways strategy and supported by the Regional Estuaries Initiative.

This report summarises the trials and makes management recommendations.
