The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation released a discussion paper, Implementing a lightweight single-use plastic bag ban in Western Australia, on 20 December 2017 for an eleven week public comment period.
The consultation process included an invitation to provide written submissions, an online survey, a series of public information sessions and meetings with stakeholders.
