Last updated:

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Services CUAICTS2015 and GovNext-ICT CUAGNICT2015 both have the potential to benefit agencies with ICT projects, and choosing between them can be difficult. This guide compares the features of both arrangements, in order to help you choose the right one for your business needs.

ICT services vs GovNext

Deciding whether to use the ICT Services CUA or the GovNext-ICT CUA for your ICT project is sometimes quite difficult. To assist you in your decision making, this guide identifies what services must be procured from either the ICT Services CUA or the GovNext CUA. Where a service is listed as falling under both the ICT Services CUA and GovNext, agencies can choose to procure from either CUA (noting that the GovNext Service Catalogues are live documents for dynamic services and will change from time to time).

ICT Services

The ICT Services CUA (ICTS2015) is for buyers that require a clearly defined and measurable outcome based service.

The CUA categories are:

  1. ICT Planning and Advisory Services
  2. ICT Business Solutions Implementation Services
  3. ICT Environment Management Services

Use of this CUA is non-mandatory for procurements under $50,000. For public authorities who procure outside of the CUA, SSC policies will apply and consideration should be given to the risks involved.

Buyers can ‘Pick and Buy’ up to $250,000. Public authorities should engage the Department of Finance for purchases over $250,000.

  5. IP Telephony Services
  6. POTS Telephony Services

Buyers can seek one quote where the value of the service is up to $250,000, and must seek two quotes where the value of the service is up to $2 million. Where the service value is estimated to be above $2 million all three contractors must be approached for quotes. Public authorities should engage the Department of Finance for purchases over $250,000.
