This project investigates the cost-effectiveness of groundwater pumping as an option to prevent or reverse further watertable rise.
The trial took place near Bodallin in the eastern agricultural region of the Western Australian Wheatbelt.
Part of the assessment included the practicalities of pumping in remote locations and the disposal of the saline and acidic discharge.
The trial evaluated three energy sources to lift groundwater from the bore and the use of an evaporation basin to dispose of the discharge.
