How to apply for the FHOG
You must apply for a grant and/or pre-approval for the first home owner rate of duty within 12 months of completion of the eligible transaction. Late applications cannot be accepted.

Lodge with an Approved Agent | If you're applying for a loan from a financial institution and your lender is an approved agent, they can process your application and lodge it on your behalf. Contact your lender to find out if they're an approved agent or see the list of approved agents. |

If you can't complete the application online, use the form below to apply for a first home owner grant and/or pre-approval for the first home owner rate of duty. If you use this form, submit it via web enquiry or by mail.
Before you submit your application, make sure the bank details you have provided are correct. If the payment is made to the wrong bank account, it may not be possible to get it back.
How to apply for the FHOR of duty

After your transaction has been reassessed, we will refund any overpaid duty.
