Intellectual property (IP) created by employees of the Western Australian Government can create potential economic, social and environmental benefits for the community. For this reason, the government provides incentives to employees to create valuable IP in the course of their work.
IP includes everything from inventions to artworks to written works, designs, names and images. IP could be described as 'creations of the mind'.
This document provides procedures to government agencies for the payment of monetary rewards to innovative employees under the Western Australian Government Intellectual Property Policy (the WA Government IP Policy).
