Draining groundwater for salinity control in Pithara

Guidance
Pamphlet on the evaluation of groundwater drains for reducing watertable and soil salinity levels at Pithara
Last updated:

The Pithara site was one of four drainage projects conducted under the Engineering Evaluation Initiative across the Wheatbelt.

The main aim of the project was to evaluate the usefulness of groundwater drains in reducing watertable and soil-salinity levels.

The second aim was to contribute to the development of useful tools and methods that can be used to predict how effective drainage might be, before construction.
