De Grey River Water Reserve water source protection plan - WRP 24

Plan
Water source protection plan for the De Grey River Water Reserve
Last updated:

This drinking water source protection plan has been developed to help protect the quality of water in the De Grey River Water Reserve to ensure the supply of safe drinking water.

The plan details the location and boundary of the drinking water catchment, which provides potable water to the town of Port Hedland. It discusses existing and future usage of the water source, describes the water supply system, identifies risks and recommends management approaches to address those risks and maximise protection of the catchment.

The plan was reviewed in the De Grey River Water Reserve drinking water source protection review (2018), which considers changes that have occurred in and around the water reserve since the completion of this plan. The two documents should be read alongside each other to obtain all of the information about this drinking water source.
