The Construction (Former Provisions) Contracts Act 2004 (the CCA) provides a number of very important protections to head contractors, subcontractors and suppliers working in the building and construction industry to ensure cash flow.

The CCA prohibits and modifies certain provisions in construction contracts and introduces a means for the rapid adjudication of payment disputes under construction contracts. 

This information applies to construction contracts entered into before 1 August 2022.  For contracts entered into on or after 1 August 2022, the Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 applies.
