Assessment of ecological health and environmental water provisions in the Logue Brook

Technical Report
Water Science Technical Series report WST 43 - Assessment undertaken from February to May 2011.
Last updated:

In late 2010, the environmental water provisions of a number of river systems in south-west Western Australia were temporarily reduced in response to reduced rainfall, with the winter of 2010 being the driest on record.

For the Logue Brook, the environmental water release was reduced by 50% for the months of December 2010 to March 2011, from 200 ML/month specified in the water resource management operating strategy to 100 ML/month.

This study’s objective was to assess whether the release of 100 ML/month was sufficient to maintain ecosystem health downstream from the dam during the study period.
