Geoff Gilbert is the Department of Finance’s Deputy Director General Service and Invest. In this role Geoff leads the provision of services to Finance, Treasury, GESB, and the provision of a financial platform for other central agencies.
Geoff has held senior executive roles in a diverse range of agencies including Finance, Water and Environmental Regulation, Education and Treasury. In these roles Geoff has led the delivery of customer-centric, value for money services across HR, ICT, Finance and Legal. He also led a large, complex whole of government reform program.
Geoff is a leader who is very experienced in creating people-oriented cultures that enable staff to thrive, and recognises the positive impact this has on the achievement of strategic objectives. Geoff is also passionate about business improvement and is experienced in using LEAN to optimise business processes.
Geoff holds a Master of Business Administration and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
