Consumer Protection Licensing - Change of role/employment

Notify the department that you have changed your place of employment.

Change of role or employment

The Department must be notified of a change of role or employment within 14 days of the change occurring.

Change your employer online

You can use the department’s online change of role system to notify a change to your employer. The system is also available to businesses wishing to notify the licensing authority of changes to its staff.

Currently the system is available to real estate and business agents, real estate sales representatives, motor vehicle salespersons and yard managers.

Your previous and new employer will be notified by email of your notification to the Department when you lodge the notification online.

To use the system you will need to have:

  • Your current authorisation number:

You can find the number of your authorisation, and see if it is current, by checking your certificate or the online licence search.

  • Access to your recorded email address or mobile phone

Once you have entered a valid authorisation number, you will need to request a security code to access the system. The code will be sent to you at the email address or mobile phone number (SMS) held on file.

If you are not sure what information the department has on file, part of the mobile number or email address will be displayed once you have requested a security code.  The code can only be used once and is valid for 48 hours or until a new code is requested.

If you do not get the code, first check your spam or junk folders. If you are still unable to access the system, please contact Licensing Services for assistance by phone on 1300 304 064.
