State Government seeking operator for Perth Motorplex
- Expressions of interest open for lease or sale of the Perth Motorplex
- The motorplex facility can accommodate popular motorsports and other events
- Average attendances at speedway and drag racing events up substantially over the last 12 months
The State Government has announced the opportunity to acquire and operate the Perth Motorplex.
Located less than 40 minutes from Perth's city centre, the Perth Motorplex is a 63-hectare site in Kwinana Beach which hosts a range of popular motorsports including drag racing, speedway, car shows, stunt shows and motocross events.
Perth Motorplex has seen a substantial uplift in attendances this season, with average attendances at speedway events up 22 per cent, and drag racing 10 per cent. This weekend's Monster Trucks Unleashed has almost sold out and will bring the biggest single crowd to the motorplex since 2015.
Acquisition of the site, via either lease or sale, will be conditional upon the selected proponent continuing to deliver speedway and drag racing events, which are of strategic importance to the sport of motor racing.
Expressions of interest will open shortly and interested parties should contact the State's appointed agent, Jones Lang LaSalle on 0417 884 888.
