A welcome upgrade to the administration building at Halidon Primary School was officially opened today by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery.

The modern transformation includes extra office space and a large, open reception area with a foyer that can accommodate parents with prams.

A fresh new look reflects the school's high-quality learning environment, and will help existing and prospective school parents feel welcome when they visit reception.

The upgrade follows a significant period of growth at the school since it became an Independent Public School last year.

The McGowan Government contributed $150,000 of Local Projects, Local Jobs funding to the project.

Comments attributed to Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

"I last visited Halidon Primary School in December, so it was great to come back and see the upgraded administration building for myself.

"This upgrade is part of our commitment to ensuring older WA public schools offer the best possible environments for their students, school staff and the school community."

Comments attributed to Kingsley MLA Jessica Stojkovski:

"The school was built in 1986 and was in need of a modern hub that all staff, students and parents could access.

"This upgrade includes easier access for parents, especially those with prams, and will be welcomed by the school community."
