  • Baldivis North Primary School officially named Sheoak Grove Primary School
  • School to open in February 2020

Baldivis North Primary School is to be officially named Sheoak Grove Primary School following consultation with the local community.

The $16.3 million primary school, which will open in February 2020 in the popular suburb of Baldivis, will accommodate up to 430 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Sheoak trees border the school grounds, and the word Sheoak also has cultural connections to the local Noongar community.

Located on Nyilla Approach in Baldivis, the school will ease enrolment pressure on the nearby Baldivis Primary School.

Comments attributed to Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

"This new primary school will benefit Baldivis families and provide students with fantastic facilities to learn in from 2020 onwards.

"It will also provide an outstanding environment for staff to provide high-quality education for students."

Comments attributed to Baldivis MLA Reece Whitby:

"Sheoak Grove Primary School continues a great local tradition of naming schools after native trees common in Baldivis.

"This will be a world-class school serving one of the fastest growing parts of Baldivis which is full of young families with children.

"I look forward to Sheoak Grove Primary becoming a special place as it fosters valuable local community connections between families."
