A State Government contract worth more than $6.5 million for the purchase and servicing of photocopying machines has been awarded to ten suppliers, including two based in country areas.

The contract, issued by the State Supply Commission, includes the cost of servicing the photocopiers for five years.

Services Minister Jim McGinty said he was pleased regional dealers would be able to participate in the contract.

"West Country Office Machines in Bunbury and Albany's Storm Stationery were the successful country tenderers," Mr McGinty said.

"The two companies proved their competitiveness against much larger national and international firms.

"It is also important to note that six of the other successful tenderers will supply their machines through regional dealers," Mr McGinty said.
