Details of State Funeral arrangements for former WA Premier John Tonkin

Premier Richard Court today announced details of the State Funeral of the late Honourable John Trezise Tonkin AC, to be held on Wednesday, October 25.
A service will be held at Wesley Church, Perth, starting at 10.30 am, with mourners to be seated no later than 10.10 am.
The service will include a eulogy by long-time friend Sir Francis Burt and continue until 11.20 am, when a police mounted escort will guide the cortege of approximately 40 cars to Parliament House.
The hearse and selected mourners' vehicles will pass by the steps of Parliament House at the request of Mr Tonkin's family and will then, with the rest of the cortege, make their way under motorcycle escort to Fremantle Cemetery.
The cortege will leave Wesley Church proceeding along William Street, St George's Terrace, Malcolm Street, Governors Drive, Harvest Terrace, Malcolm Street, Kings Park Road, Thomas Street, Stirling Highway, Stirling Bridge, Wood Street, High Street and Carrington Street.
The cortege will arrive at Fremantle Cemetery approximately at noon for a Service of Cremation at the Crematorium Chapel.
Only private mourners will be admitted to the chapel and should assemble at the main gate no later than 11.50 am. Loudspeakers outside the chapel will broadcast addresses by long-time friends and colleagues, former Tonkin Government Minister Ron Davies and former Premier Sir Charles Court.
Flags on all Government buildings will be flown at half-mast until 1 pm on the day of the funeral.
