Transport Minister Eric Charlton says special public transport arrangements are in place for this Saturday's Rolling Stones rock concert in Perth.

Following a meeting between concert promoters and Metrobus, it was decided to arrange a special bus service to transport concert-goers to and from the city and Perry Lakes Stadium, the concert venue.

People using the service will pay a flat fee of $1.

"Metrobus will use 10 articulated buses which will leave the Wellington Street station for Perry Lakes at regular intervals from 4 pm to 7 pm on Saturday evening," Mr Charlton said.

"Return services to the city will commence at 10.30 pm.

"People will be able to link in with normal Saturday night train and bus timetables from the city or catch a taxi from the new Wellington Street rank at the railway station."

Mr Charlton said those people who stayed on in the city could use the NightRider service, which ran each Friday and Saturday from midnight to 3 am.

For a flat fare of $5 NightRider offers the public a bus ride from the city or Northbridge to selected suburbs where a prearranged taxi can take people to their homes.

"The service is becoming popular with an average of 250 people using NightRider over the two nights," Mr Charlton said.

"On some individual nights, as many as 300 people have used NightRider."
