Budget funding - Broome Senior High School
11/4/97
Broome Senior High School will benefit from the Education Department's $103 million capital works program announced in the 1997/98 State Budget.
Education Minister Colin Barnett said $3 million has been allocated over two years to provide a sports hall and improvements and additions to art and craft facilities. $1 million would be provided in 1997/98.
This was the second consecutive year the school has received significant capital works funding. $3.5 million was provided in 1996/97 for major classroom additions.
Mr Barnett said included in the overall education budget was more than $47 million for new works, and $56 million for works in progress.
Major building programs will begin in 27 Western Australian schools, with works being completed in a further 38.
Many more schools were included in special programs to provide new facilities such as library resource centres, administration upgrades, covered assembly areas and toilet replacements.
