Season 2 of the award-winning crime series The Twelve will be filmed in Western Australia.

Supported by the State Government's Western Australian Production Attraction Incentive and Screenwest, the production will be the biggest-ever of its kind to film in WA and is estimated to bring $9.6 million in expenditure to the State.

The Twelve observes a complicated murder trial in a small rural town through the eyes of the twelve jurors, each of whom is grappling with their own lives and experiences and the shattering impacts of the case.

The show's first season aired on Binge and Foxtel in 2022 to critical acclaim and recently received nine Logie Award nominations, including the Most Popular Drama Series.

WA directors Stevie Cruz-Martin (Safe Home, The Tailings) and Ben Young (Hounds of Love, Clickbait) join Mark Joffe (Jack Irish) to helm the production of the thrilling drama series.

Filming will take place in the Wheatbelt and Metropolitan regions, creating over one hundred local jobs and boosting local businesses.

Comments attributed to Premier Roger Cook:

"The Twelve is a premium series and the largest-ever of its kind to be filmed here in Western Australia - it's fantastic that our State has attracted such a high-calibre production.

"This demonstrates to the rest of Australia and the globe that not only do we have brilliant local talent, breathtaking locations and incentives, but we are open for business.

"In addition to creating local jobs, enabling local skill development and featuring our beautiful State, we will also see a significant return on our investment, with the production set to inject more than three times the funds back into the WA economy."

Comments attributed to Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:

"The State Government's Production Attraction Incentive is successfully drawing high-profile productions to WA, cementing WA as the place to film ahead of the development of the new world-class film studio.

"These kinds of productions take advantage of our wonderful talent in Western Australia and showcase our State's stunning settings while giving our budding creatives the chance to work on award-winning productions.

"I know audiences will be eagerly awaiting the second season of The Twelve after the thrilling first season, and we are so pleased to have it filmed here in beautiful WA.
