UFC 305 is currently the only UFC Pay-Per-View (PPV) event in Australia in 2024 and will be broadcast live to more than 975 million TV households in more than 170 countries and territories in 50 different languages.

The return of UFC comes after the Perth-hosted UFC 284: MAKHACHEV vs. VOLKANOVSKI event set a series of records in 2023 - including the highest grossing ticket revenue for any arena in Australia, beating The Rolling Stones' 2014 record in Sydney.

UFC 284 injected a massive $16 million into the Western Australian economy and attracted more than 8,400 out-of-state visitors, with more than 33,300 hotel room nights booked over the event weekend in February 2023.

The 2024 event is expected to draw similar crowds, as the sport's dedicated fans flock to Perth once again to watch some of MMA's top athletes go head-to-head in the Octagon.

The arrival of UFC 305 in Perth will include several fan-favourite events over three days that are all free of charge and open to the public, including the UFC 305 Press Conference, Ceremonial Weigh-Ins for the athletes at RAC Arena, and Open Workouts.

UFC 305 also falls on the same weekend as the Wallabies vs Springboks Rugby Championship Test Match at Optus Stadium on Saturday, 17 August, creating a winter weekend blockbuster of international sport.

Comments attributed to Acting Tourism Minister John Carey:

"August 17 and 18 is shaping up to be a brilliant weekend of international sport, with the Wallabies and Springboks playing at Optus Stadium on the Saturday night, and UFC 305 following on the next morning at RAC Arena.

"We're very excited that UFC 305 is going to feature a spectacle fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title - a massive win for Perth - bringing even bigger crowds from out-of-state to watch the action unfold.

"We have a growing reputation as one of the sporting capitals of the South East Asia region, and to have a fight of this calibre on the cards when UFC 305 comes to town only strengthens that reputation further."

Comments attributed to Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman:

"Fans can soon lock-in their attendance to one of the biggest events in WA this winter, when tickets go on sale for UFC 305, and our Government is very excited to be bringing this huge event to RAC Arena.

"Given how popular UFC 284 was, I certainly suggest fans who are eager to attend UFC 305 register for pre-sale to ensure they don't miss out on tickets to what is undoubtedly going to be an event for the history books."
