The new Bayswater Station will partially reopen on Sunday 8 October with passengers able to use train services running on Midland and Airport lines.

The opening will see the southern platforms open to commuters, who will be able to access the station via the entry building on either side of Coode Street. Access to the platforms will be available via a lift, escalator and stairs.

Major works are continuing on the northern half of the station which will eventually service the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Train Line.

Once completed the new station will feature four station platforms, bicycle shelter and parking, 10 new retail spaces at the base of the station and new public open spaces.

The new Whatley Crescent extension will also open on 8 October, linking Whatley Crescent to the existing Railway Parade and Beechboro Road South, and will ensure the smooth flow of traffic under the new elevated station.

Bus routes diverted while the station was being upgraded will now return to their original alignment including Route 48, 998 and 999 bus services. More information on the timetables and bus stops is available on the Transperth website.

As work on this transformational project continues, there have also been significant upgrades to the Perth to Midland Shared Path, with the section from Meltham to Bayswater to reopen in line with the station opening.

The Government recognises the disruption that the ongoing works have had on the local community, and thanks them for their patience while the historic Bayswater Bridge and Station have been demolished and redeveloped.

Bayswater Station will become a key connection point, joining the Midland, Airport and the future Morley-Ellenbrook lines.

Comments attributed to Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:

"October 8 will mark a significant milestone for the METRONET New Bayswater Station project, with train services resuming on the Midland and Airport lines.

"This new station is completely transforming the heart of Bayswater and I want to thank the community once again for their patience and understanding as we deliver this critical project.

"The opening on October 8 will be the southern half of the station and include an entry building either side of Coode Street, with lift and escalator access, stairs, two station platforms and artwork that reflects the local community of Bayswater.

"Work continues on the northern side of the station which will service the new METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Train Line, and when complete the new station will feature four station platforms, bicycle shelter and parking, retail opportunities around the station and new public open spaces."

Comments attributed to Maylands MLA Lisa Baker:

"It's incredible to see the new station taking shape, and I encourage the community to come down and check it out when the southern platforms open.

"The METRONET New Bayswater Station will be the only station outside of the CBD to service three separate train lines which will see this part of our community become a thriving hub in the years ahead.

"I know this project has caused disruption for our community and I want to thank everyone again for their patience."
