Comments attributed to Minister Assisting the Transport Minister David Michael:
"I am pleased to announce the next round of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Grants for WA taxi operators to further improve wheelchair accessible transport options for the people of, and visitors to, Western Australia.
"Following feedback from previous rounds of the Regional WAV Taxi Service Grant, we have increased the grant amounts to align better with the cost of purchasing and converting a suitable WAV for use in the community.
"Changes to the WAV modification grants mean that applicants will need to have already purchased, or be able to provide delivery details for, a suitable WAV that can be set up to provide a wheelchair accessible on-demand taxi service.
"I encourage any interested taxi operators to register for the upcoming information sessions to learn more about the grants and the application processes."
