Joint media statement - East Perth Common Ground construction contract awarded to construction firm ADCO
The East Perth Common Ground project has reached a major milestone today with ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd (ADCO) confirmed as the building contractor to deliver the estimated $70 million project.
The East Perth Common Ground forms part of the Homelessness Housing Projects commitment jointly funded between the Australian and State Governments. The Homelessness Housing Projects are providing housing and support services to vulnerable people.
The Common Ground model provides a mix of permanent housing options for people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping or on low incomes, together with wraparound supports.
The 112 self-contained apartments will be delivered on the corner of Hill and Wellington Streets with construction set to commence in coming months.
ADCO is an Australian owned company formed in 1972, with over 50 years of industry experience. Their Western Australian portfolio includes major CBD projects such as the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Parmelia Hilton, and the Public Transport Operations Control Centre project currently underway in East Perth.
A tender process to identify service providers to provide tenancy and additional supports for East Perth Common Ground is expected to commence in late 2023.
Common Ground is a key priority of the State Government's All Paths Lead to a Home: Western Australia's 10 Year Strategy on Homelessness 2020–2030, which aims to improve outcomes for Western Australians experiencing, or at risk of homelessness.
