Iconic new playground officially opened at Karlkurla Bushland Park

• Karlkurla Nature Playground officially opens, delivering on an important WA Labor election commitment for local families
• $1 million project includes a zip-line, large climbing structure and slide
• New park amenities, shade and barbecue area to complement playground

Premier Roger Cook has officially opened a new nature playground at Karlkurla Bushland Park today, providing a new recreation space for Goldfields families in a natural bushland setting.

The $1.1 million project is tailored towards primary school children, with a zip-line, large climbing structure and a variety of play-based and sensory equipment. Families will also enjoy the new barbecue areas, large, grassed areas for picnics and shaded spaces.

Delivered by the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group, the completion of the playground represents the delivery of an important WA Labor election commitment for Goldfields families.

Located at the start and finish of the popular Parkrun, which attracts an average of 100 participants, the playground and amenities will be well utilised each weekend.

The project is co-funded by a State Government election commitment of $600,000, a $500,000 contribution from the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder for park amenities and includes support from Northern Star Resources and Western Power.
