The Beazley Medal: WACE is awarded for excellence to the student who achieves the top WACE award score, which is used to rank students for General Exhibitions and determines the top student in the State for ATAR courses.

Elena has also received a General Exhibition and a Subject Exhibition for Chemistry, Subject Certificates of Excellence for Chemistry and Mathematics Methods, and a Certificate of Distinction.

The Beazley Medal: VET is awarded to the Year 12 student who has demonstrated the most outstanding overall performance in a VET Certificate II or higher and in their other WACE achievements.

In addition to a significant number of hours in the workplace, Isaac also received a VET Exhibition and a VET Certificate of Excellence in Automotive, Engineering and Logistics. He has achieved a Certificate II in Integrated Technologies (Pre-vocational) and a Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.

In total, 3,893 awards were awarded in 2023 including 50 General Exhibitions and 40 Subject Exhibitions.

Comments attributed to Education Minister Dr Tony Buti:

"I congratulate Elenaand Isaacfor their outstanding achievement as Beazley Medal recipients, the highest honour a senior secondary student in Western Australia can receive, and I look forward to watching their bright futures unfold.

"Elena and Isaac's dedication, determination and hard work, with the support of their families, friends and teachers, over the last two years to complete Year 12 and achieve the recognition of these awards is an inspiration to us all.

"Their success is the culmination of at least 13 years of schooling and a significant accomplishment in achieving their goals as they continue onto further study, training or joining the workforce.

"I also congratulate the almost 4,000 senior secondary school students that have achieved one or more of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority's highly sought after ATAR and VET Awards for outstanding achievement."
