Walpole joins Western Australia's EV Network
- An Electric Vehicle charging station is now available in Walpole
- EV drivers can now travel with confidence from Perth to Albany
Walpole has joined the WA Electric Vehicle Network with a new EV fast charger now operating in Pioneer Park.
The new charger provides up to 150 kilowatts and allows drivers to top up in as little as 20 minutes.
A back-up 7.6 kW charger is also available.
The charging station is conveniently located on the northern side of the South West Highway, opposite the Walpole Town Centre.
Synergy delivered the EV charger, and worked with the Shire of Manjimup to ensure a fast and enjoyable user experience.
The WA EV Network will be the longest in Australia, stretching over 7000 kilometres from Kununurra in the north to Esperance in the south, and east to the Eucla.
It will feature 98 new charging stations across 49 locations along key travel routes averaging less than 200 kilometres apart.
The $21 million Network is part of the State Government's State Electric Vehicle Action Plan for WA.
