Western Australian public schools are invited to apply for the fourth
round of clean energy funding to help reduce energy costs and enhance their
energy efficiency.
Education Minister Dr Tony Buti today announced the fourth round of the
State Government's Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund, which was created to
provide clean energy solutions, including solar panels and other energy saving
technologies to Western Australian public schools over four years.
This latest round of funding will focus on solar photovoltaic (PV) and light-emitting
diode (LED) lighting upgrades. So far, 240 schools have received
upgrades. Eighty-four schools received solar PV in round one, 96 schools
received solar PV in round two, and 60 schools received LED lighting in round
three.
The initiative also expands on the existing
Solar Schools Program, Synergy's Virtual Power Plant Program, and general
maintenance replacement of lighting in schools with LED.
The program aligns with the Western
Australian Climate Policy.
