Community comment sought on draft residential plan for Perry Lakes
3/8/07
The draft redevelopment plan for the Perry Lakes residential estate is now available for public viewing and comment.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan said the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) had given approval for LandCorp to advertise the plan and seek community feedback.
"The draft residential plan represents a careful balance between community expectations, the objectives set as part of the Perry Lakes Redevelopment Act and broader State planning policy," Ms MacTiernan said.
"The plan provides for almost 16 per cent public open space and a mix of single residential lots and group housing sites. It also proposes a total of 126 lots, which will provide for up to 588 dwellings.
"We welcome comment from the community and all feedback received during this advertising period will be thoroughly assessed."
Local residents and members of the wider community are invited to attend LandCorp's open day at the Perry Lakes track from 10am to 2pm on August 25 to discuss the proposed plan with project representatives and the consultant team.
Feedback received from the public comment period will be used to guide possible revisions to the final plan before it is resubmitted to the WAPC.
The WAPC will then conduct a final review and provide the State Government with its recommendation.
Copies of the proposed residential redevelopment plan can be viewed at the Town of Cambridge, City of Nedlands, Department for Planning and Infrastructure (Wellington Street, Perth), LandCorp, State Library or at http://www.perrylakes.landcorp.com.au
