Additional parking for Greenwood station

Extra car parking is now available at Greenwood station, in line with the State Government's pre-election commitment.

Transport Minister Simon O'Brien said 176 new parking bays were opened after construction works were completed this week.

"The additional bays will take the total parking at Greenwood station to more than 900 bays," Mr O'Brien said.

"The bays have been built north of the existing car park. Works also included installation of CCTV and additional lighting.

"Working with the Public Transport Authority, we have been able to deliver more than 1,000 new bays at stations on the Mandurah and Joondalup lines in the past month."

Kingsley MLA Andrea Mitchell said she was pleased by the increase in parking capacity at Greenwood station.

"There has been a lot of demand for extra parking along the Joondalup Line," Ms Mitchell said.

"Delivery of these new bays will make public transport services more accessible to residents in the northern suburbs."

The work is part of the State Government's promised $49million car park expansion project on the Mandurah and Joondalup lines.
