Children at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) were able to experience all the fun of the show when a special compact version of the 2012 IGA Perth Royal Show today went to the hospital.

The inaugural It's Showtime at PMH was presented by the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) and PMH and funded by the State Government as part of its recognition of The Australian Year of the Farmer.

Premier Colin Barnett welcomed children and their families to the It's Showtime at PMH show zone, along with RAS president Hugh Harding and PMH chief executive Philip Aylward.

"The Royal Show is the pinnacle agricultural event in Western Australia and a wonderful experience for all children.  This year we wanted to ensure children and young people who are in hospital also get to experience some of its magic," Mr Barnett said.

Free to all PMH patients and their families, It's Showtime at PMH included traditional show food, showbags, a petting zoo and sideshow rides, including a mini-ferris wheel and mini merry-go-round for smaller children, the Lost Temple Run and Spaceball as well as Laughing Clowns.

Those children unable to leave their beds enjoyed a variety of entertainment and celebrity visits to their bedsides, as well as showbags and prizes.

As a special surprise, those at the PMH event were the first to see the 2012 IGA Perth Royal Show's headline attractions, including the 2.4m-high Titan the Robot and illusionists Adam and Selina.
