State Labor's Esperance shame rolls on
State Labor's shameless attempt to divert attention away from its failings at Esperance Port claiming the Government has broken a promise to upgrade nickel loading facilities is a desperate move from a desperate Opposition.
Transport Minister Simon O'Brien said the State Government had already demonstrated it would upgrade the facilities at Esperance Port - after Labor failed to do so in their eight wasted years in government
"The State Government is getting on with the job of securing Western Australia's future growth by embarking on strategic infrastructure projects, including important upgrades at the port," Mr O'Brien said.
The Minister said the Opposition had no idea where it stood on the issue of upgrades to Esperance Port.
"Enough is enough. For years the previous Labor government neglected the Esperance region and, now that the Liberal-National Government has embarked on planned upgrades at the port, the State Opposition seems obsessed with undermining the region's future growth potential," he said.
"Western Australians should be asking themselves why after years of mismanaging the Esperance Port, including the lead contamination scandal, does the Labor Party still insist on trying to undermine public confidence in the port.
"The Government is working to secure the State's economic future; the Opposition is working to undermine it."
