New face for Sutherland Dianella Primary School

Sutherland Dianella Primary School is to get new administration facilities, as part of the $7.

Sutherland Dianella Primary School is to get new administration facilities, as part of the $7.1million makeover it has received through the State Government's School Capital Improvements Program and Building the Education Revolution funds.

Education Minister Liz Constable today announced that the new administration facilities desired by the school's P&C and School Council would get the go ahead.

They would include a new front office, staffroom and toilet facilities.

"I am pleased to announce that we have been able to provide an administration upgrade from within the budget already allocated to the school," Dr Constable said.

The administration facility is scheduled for completion in May 2012.

"Teachers, parents and the school community will be thrilled with their new facilities, which would be a major upgrade of the school," the Minister said.

Building work on the school started in May last year, with the school to receive an upgraded library, new four-classroom block, new early childhood classrooms, new basketball and tennis courts, and now a new administration facility.

Mount Lawley MLA Michael Sutherland said the addition of a new administration facility meant teachers would be working in a state-of-the-art environment.

The works at the school are being completed in stages. Stage two is expected to be completed in September 2011, after which the administration upgrade will commence.
