Former world number one tennis players Novak Djokovic and Ana Ivanovic and Australian's top-ranked male player Bernard Tomic will play at the 25th Hopman Cup.

Tourism Minister Kim Hames today welcomed the announcement saying the tournament was off to a flying start with Djokovic, the world number two and winner of three Grand Slam events in 2011, Ivanovic, a French Open winner and current number 12, and Aussie young gun Tomic, who'll be making his Hopman Cup debut.

"When we talk about home grown Western Australian events, the Hopman Cup is at the top of the list," Dr Hames said.

"Over the years it has grown from strength to strength and is now one of the most anticipated features of WA's diverse events calendar.

"This year the Hopman Cup enters a new era with a move to the new Perth Arena and operating with Tennis Australia's involvement.

"The State Government is looking forward to working with Tennis Australia to ensure that the Hopman Cup remains in Perth and continues to grow as an event.

Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron said the Perth Arena would give the Hopman Cup a world class home.

"The arena, which is fast nearing completion, is going to be a stunning tennis venue, and will nearly double the capacity of the Burswood Dome," Mr Waldron said.

"The Hopman Cup was at the forefront of the design stage of the Perth Arena, and   spectators and players are going to be blown away by what they see and experience."

The State Government, through Eventscorp, is proud to be a founding sponsor of the Hopman Cup.
