  • Radio Lollipop to receive tickets to every show at Arena during first year

Radio Lollipop was today the recipient of the most sought-after tickets in Australia.

The first-ever tickets printed for the new Perth Arena were handed over to the popular children's charity Radio Lollipop by Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron in the Radio Lollipop studios at Princess Margaret Hospital this morning.

"These are very special tickets and there will never ever be two like them," Mr Waldron said.

"The tickets will give one lucky winner - and their guest - the opportunity to go to each event at Perth Arena for the next year, regardless of which show it is."

AEG Ogden general manager David Humphreys has provided the tickets and said while he could not list all the events to be scheduled over the first year, the winner could look forward to experiencing some incredible sport, music, arts and entertainment events.

"We are thrilled to share the excitement of Perth Arena with this lucky winner and raise some much-needed funds for such a deserving charity at the same time," Mr Humphreys said.

Australian Radio Lollipop chairwoman Kristi Clarke said her organisation felt extremely privileged to receive the tickets, which would be raffled.

"Donations from the raffle will provide substantial funding to continue our unique brand of care, comfort, play and entertainment to Western Australia's New Children's Hospital," Ms Clarke said.

"Perth Arena and Radio Lollipop share a common understanding of the power of music.  It is so fitting that we come together for this exciting opportunity."

With George Michael confirmed as the first act at the venue on November 10, Ticketek booked to handle the ticketing and One Direction also set to play in 2013, the people of Perth can look forward to a world-class line-up of events at this iconic venue.

"The people of WA can expect a very exciting opening and pre-opening program that will allow the community to experience the venue and help test it out," the Minister said.
