Westport

Westport is the State Government’s long-term program to investigate, plan and build a future port in Kwinana with integrated road and rail transport networks. The Future of Fremantle project is closely connected to the Westport Program with its focus on redevelopment opportunities arising from the decision to transition trade from Fremantle’s Inner Harbour to Kwinana’s Outer Harbour.

Global Advanced Industries Hub

The Global Advanced Industries Hub is a State Government project led by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation to position the Western Trade Coast as a Global Advanced Industries Hub, and an investment and trade destination for new and emerging industries. Future of Fremantle is well positioned to contribute to the significant economic opportunities being developed in the Western Trade Coast by being an epicentre of talent and attraction, research and development, and a highly attractive location for business headquarters and residents.

Swan River Crossings

The Swan River Crossings project, led by Main Roads WA, is developing a new traffic bridge across the Swan River to replace the current bridge that has been deteriorating over several years despite extensive strengthening and maintenance work. The construction program for the new bridge has commenced.

Fremantle Harbours Master Plan

The Fremantle Harbours Master Plan is a State Government project led by the Department of Transport to guide the development of the Fremantle Fishing Boat, Challenger and Success Harbours over the next 40-years. The master plan identifies opportunities for improved infrastructure, enhanced public spaces, new development sites, and improved access to reconnect Fremantle City Centre with its harbours to create a livelier waterfront.
