Notice is hereby given that in accordance with Clause 27 of the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS), the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) resolved on 18 September 2024 to transfer approximately 1.74 hectares of land within part of Lot 202 Skeet Road and parts of Lots 600, 601 and 602 Balannup Road in Harrisdale from the Urban Deferred zone to the Urban Zone, as shown on WAPC plan number 4.1671.

Under section 126(3) of the Planning and Development Act 2005 (the Act), the WAPC has the option of concurrently rezoning land being zoned Urban under the Metropolitan Region Scheme, to a zone which is consistent with the objective of the Urban zone in the corresponding local planning scheme.

In this regard, the WAPC resolved to concurrently amend the City of Armadale Local Planning Scheme No. 4 to transfer land within the amendment area to the ‘Urban Development’ zone, and to include this land with the Development Area No. 72 special control area on the scheme map and the Special Control Area Map 3.

Accordingly, the amendment to the Metropolitan Region Scheme and the City of Armadale Local Planning Scheme No. 4 are effective from the date of publication of this notice in the Government Gazette.
