Current priorities
Proposals will be assessed in terms of their ability to quickly stimulate the economy, create jobs and deliver long term value and employment opportunities for the WA community. Proposals must demonstrate a clear and explicit value proposition to government.
Current focus areas for the Government are:
- maximising value from the State's assets, including underutilised land assets
- supporting the State’s housing initiatives, including the provision of social housing
- Aboriginal empowerment/ Closing the Gap
- decarbonisation
- industry diversification
- energy transition
- tourism facilities and infrastructure
- value-adding to the manufacturing supply chain.
In addition to this list of priorities, the Government may occasionally invite industry to propose innovative solutions to specific Problem and Opportunity Statements.
Current exclusions
To help you understand the types of proposals that we would not consider a priority, specific exclusions are listed below and include proposals that:
- require unallocated funding within the next 24 months. These proposals will not generally be supported unless they can demonstrate significant return to the State
- are dealt with by an existing government process that is underway
- seek to obtain industry assistance and other grants currently available and considered through existing programs
- relate to a project or program that government has already decided and/or announced will be released to the market
- are not required to be subjected to a competitive procurement process
- do not meet our current priorities
- lack structure and sufficient supporting information.
This list is not exhaustive. A full list of exclusions is provided in the MLP Supplementary Guidelines.
