Avalon Australian International Airshow 2025 attracted over 200,000 visitors, including around 900 exhibitors from 28 nations, and showcasing over 350 aircraft.
Throughout the event, Team WA proudly showcased Western Australia's significant capabilities in defence, aerospace, and space sectors on the global stage.
The Team WA stand featured 24 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and 15 rovers, showcasing the depth and diversity of Western Australia’s industry capabilities, from advanced manufacturing to autonomous systems.
Defence West was key in facilitating meetings between Western Australian SMEs and international defence and aerospace industry leaders. These discussions provided WA businesses with valuable opportunities to demonstrate their capabilities directly to influential decision-makers.
Team WA also met with 8 national and international delegations, including visits to the stand from the Australian Secretary of Defence Greg Moriarty, the UK Trade Envoy to Australia Lord John Spellar, and the Ambassador of Finland Mr Arto Haapea.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, the Hon Richard Marles MP, also visited Team WA’s stand, engaging with exhibitors and even testing a virtual reality aviation training on the Australian Remote Operations for Space and Earth (AROSE) booth, developed for Defence & space training.
WA exhibitors received significant exposure, resulting in promising leads and opportunities for future collaborations.
Avalon 2025 reinforced Western Australia's growing importance within Australia’s defence and space industries, marking another milestone in the state's continuing development.
