10 years sustainable fish

Eleven WA fisheries, which supply seafood to the nation and internationally, are independently certified and have passed the world’s most rigorous sustainability standards set by MSC.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development continues to help minimise environmental impacts from fishing, since Western Rock Lobster was the only fishery with the MSC tick to exist in WA 10 years ago.

Our 11 fisheries that now meet MSC’s standards account for more than 90 per cent of our State’s fishery value, further solidifying WA’s global reputation for premium, safe and sustainable seafood.
