WasteSorted Schools program recipients announced

43 schools have been awarded grants totalling more than $122,500 to encourage initiatives that avoid and recover school waste.

WasteSorted Schools offers funding for accredited schools to assist with recovering waste by facilitating educational hands-on learning experiences linked to the Western Australian Curriculum.

Projects submitted in this round of grant applications included a wide range of waste sorting infrastructure, ranging from recycling stations and containers for change collection bins to organics recycling infrastructure such as worm farms and composts; school green team resources; educational signage for recycling; and green canteen infrastructure.
