Submarine Institute of Australia Conference 2025 is coming to Perth

The Submarine Institute of Australia (SIA) is bringing its flagship conference back to Western Australia in 2025.

The conference will take place from 18-20 August 2025 at the Pan Pacific Perth, with the theme ‘Nuclear Submarines in Australia’, reflecting the growing importance of Australia’s nuclear-powered submarine capability.

This event will be an opportunity for Australian and international government agencies, academic institutions, and industry organisations involved in the defence and maritime sectors to discuss all things related to submarines, including operations, engineering and history.

Western Australia is set to play a key role in the delivery and support of conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines to Australia as part of the AUKUS agreement. HMAS Stirling will house Australia’s first sovereign nuclear-powered submarine capability from the early 2030s.

The conference offers a unique platform to showcase Western Australia’s strategic importance and foster knowledge sharing across defence and industry networks.
