“I’m very proud to be part of a sector that is so inclusive and takes care of our people.”

Ashley Reid is a proud Wonga Ngadju man working as Principal Consultant in Aboriginal Learning and Development at the Department of Communities.

“This role is really exciting for me,” he says. “It’s a great opportunity to help people learn about Aboriginal culture and it’s something I’m so passionate about.”

Ashley takes a look back on his journey from completing a Solid Futures traineeship 2015 at WA Police to coming back to the public sector and his new role facilitating cultural training.

He shares his advice for new trainees joining the sector: “Love every moment of the traineeship because it’s something you will remember and cherish for a very long time.”
