Seeking to provide clarity and a shared understanding of District and Local Emergency Management Committees' role within the emergency management sector, SEMC approved a review in May 2022.
An external consultant examined the current arrangements and gathered stakeholder perspectives, ensuring that both district and local matters were adequately considered.
The consultant’s report, including key findings, was provided to SEMC in November 2023.
After reviewing the report findings and identifying improvement opportunities, SEMC will collaborate with stakeholders to create actionable and forward-looking plans, that aim to increase effective and efficient emergency management outcomes.
