The Road Safety Commission has proudly partnered with Heart Hub South West Incorporated, providing $50,000 in funding to the Collie-based not-for-profit. Through the 12-month partnership, Heart Hub will continue to develop and deliver their road trauma counselling and community outreach services in the South West.

Heart Hub provides free support to local individuals and families impacted by road trauma.

The volunteer-run organisation was founded by Tarryn, Scott and Tayla Sanford in loving memory of their eighteen-year-old son and brother Jack who was tragically killed in a car crash in 2017.

Road Safety Commissioner Adrian Warner said he was pleased to ensure post-crash support services meet the needs of South West communities.

“Road trauma impacts not only those directly involved in a crash but family, friends, colleagues, first-responders and the wider community,” Mr Warner said.

“This ripple effect can be particularly strong in smaller, tight-knit regional communities so it’s great to have support services available on the ground in Collie and surrounds.

“I attended the launch of Heart Hub in 2021, and the community support this service has garnered in just a few short years is testament to their positive impact on those affected by road trauma.”

Heart Hub South West Founder Tarryn said she was pleased to partner with the Road Safety Commission.

“This funding will enable us to further develop our Heart Hub services in 2025 and allow us to continue to provide our personal support service to those affected by road trauma in our local and wider communities.”
