The team delivered training for staff at South Regional TAFE Albany Campus on the Contact Officer Role as well as a session on Workplace Culture.

They held an evening walk-in information session at Albany Public Library to give people in the area an opportunity to ask questions about the work of the Commission including the complaint process.

The team met with community groups including Albany Pride, Anglicare, and Migrant Resource Centres in Albany, Katanning and Mt Barker managed by the Rainbow Coast Neighbourhood Centre.

Dr Greg Watson, Acting Manager Strategy and Engagement said the team appreciated the generosity of spirit shown by the community groups during these meetings. He noted that these engagements provided the team with valuable opportunities to hear first-hand how people encounter discrimination and harassment. For this reason alone, the engagement and education trip to Albany was worthwhile as it provided insights about local issues and opened the possibility of working together to further educate people about how they may be protected against discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
