During this week’s Elev8 core experience, forward thinking Level 8s from 21 public sector agencies looked at how to be insightful leaders, enhancing their ability to scan the environment, analyse future trends and understand the driving forces of change.
Mark Howett from the Perth Arts and Culture Trust has gained different perspectives from the experience.
“The biggest thing is to challenge what you know and adopt other ways of working so you elevate your knowledge for your benefit and that of your agency and the community,” he shared.
“When we learn together, we come to a really good position through consensus and understanding alternative perspectives. It’s more powerful and more reflective of the views of the public.”
Recognising that strategically insightful leadership goes beyond mere position or job title, this experienced emphasised the importance of continually researching, understanding and future proofing the contexts our leaders operate in.
As these leaders look to the future, they are now better equipped to anticipate and adapt – shaping a brighter, more resilient future for the public sector.
