Hop on free public transport this summer with a SmartRider

SmartRider users can access free public transport across trains, buses, and ferries throughout the Perth metropolitan area and regional WA from 14 December to 5 February.

From 14 December 2024 to 5 February 2025, tap your SmartRider card to explore more of what WA has to offer this summer for free.

Free public transport is available on trains, buses, and ferries across the Perth metropolitan area and regional WA.

To access free public transport all you need to do is: 

  • Have a SmartRider card 
  • Tag on and off at the beginning and end of every trip 

Free parking is also available at Transperth stations during the free travel period with a SmartRider. Make sure your vehicle is registered to your SmartRider and tag on using the SmartParker machine when you park.

H2: How to purchase a SmartRider card 

You can purchase a SmartRider from Transperth InfoCentres or select retail outlets.

SmartRider cards cost $10 and need to have a minimum of $10 added onto it.
